Here is a list of steps to help you understand the process required to create your new website. Don't worry it's not as daunting as you might think
Step 1 Briefing and Review
The first step is to download the questionnaire and return the completed the document to us. We will then send you a review brief with any other questions we might have.
Once we receive your initial completed questionnaire we will contact you for a consultation on your requirements. The purpose of this consultation is to fully understand how we can best support your business and we may offer advice and suggestions about how best to develop your website to meet your specific business objectives.
Next we will provide you with a complete outline brief for this project. You can change or edit any part of the brief until you are satisfied.
Step 2 Domain Name Registration & Hosting
If you already have a domain and website hosting, you will need to provide us with the relevant details. Or if you prefer we can help you register a domain and host your new website on our host account.
Hosting is included in every package (free for the first year) and is tailored to your websites requirements.
This stage can be completed at any time during the development process, but it must be completed before the final website can go live.
Step 3 Website Structure
We will create a structural map for the website. We use a very simple tool to create this map that will allow you easily modify the visual structure of your website until you are satisfied that you have the right content in the right place.
We will then provide you with all the help you need to start building your websites content.
Once you are happy with the structure for your website we will provide you with a structured system where you can begin to add the content for your website. This provides an organised, easy to use structure into which you can add and update information and research you may need to start building your content.
We will also include a timeline outlining each stage of the process. We can adjust this timeline as required so that you remain in full control of the project at every step.
Step 4 Wireframe Content Placement
In this step we will create wireframe layouts showing where we think the required content should sit on each page of your website. You may adjust this until you are satisfied that everything is where it should be. Our proofing system will allow you to quickly comment and mark the changes you want for each of the layouts included in you’re package.
Step 5 Database Development
SiteEdit and Commerce website projects only.
This is the beginning of the database development for the website. We will provide you with the database structure for your project. You can at this stage make any comments, changes or additions to the database you may require.
We will provide you with walk through scenarios for the Content management system. This will help you to begin to understand how you will be able to manage your new website and if there is any extra functionality you require at this you will be able to add it to the project.
Step 6. Design Stage
We will provide you with design proofs based on the design requirements outlined in the brief and the structure and content layouts we have developed.
As part of the design process we will provide walk through scenarios to show you how the website will work. This will give you a good understanding of what the end user experience will be. It will also help you to recognise and rectify any potential problems with the users experience and functionality of your website.
We will work with you on the designs and make the necessary changes until you are satisfied.
Step 7 HTML/ CSS Website
We are at the final stages of your website creation Project. We have created your HTML/CSS coded version of the website. We have added the content you have provided us with. You now have access to the entire site.
Any minor adjustments such as spelling mistakes, missing content or minor colour changes can be addressed at this stage.
Step 8 Upload completed website
We will upload the completed website to our server and point your domain.
Congratulations.
